Why Autumn Is The Best Time For Hiking
🍁 Autumn is a beautiful season! 🍁
Last weekend we went camping and hiking in Bushkill, PA and WOW…! 🤩 The colors, water and trails at Bushkill Falls where absolutely stunning and breathtaking. It felt like we where hiking in another world! We spent all day, for 4 days exploring Gods pure perfection in nature around the bushkill area! What a treat it was.
There are just so many great reasons to get outside and enjoy a hike or a bike ride this time of year. These activities are great forms of exercise and are so rejuvenating to the body and soul! Plus, they are wonderful, active experiences for your children to enjoy and learn to love doing!
My top 4 reasons to get outside and do a little hiking during Autumn
Don’t get me wrong… I absolutly LOVE a good hike year around and in any season… but Autumn, it’s just extra special. 🍂🧡
1. The bugs start dying off! Glory hallelujah! If you are in a high bug area… this is the sweetest thing ever! Less cob webs you have to pick off your face and zero to non ants crawling up your pants when you sit on a rock to watch your kids explore. 🙌
2. Cooler, 60/70° weather! You won’t sweat your butt off and drench your clothes… even though sometimes a good sweat feels good- you can now actually go somewhere after your hike rather than straight home to the shower. You’ll also be able to breathe easier now and have less complaints from your kiddos, animals and friends! Plus, the weather is at it’s prime (for my California skin) to GET OUT and soak up every minute of sunshine before it gets too cold to stay outside all morning long!
3. The crowds have died down. Kids go back to school, people are going into hibernation mode… so the trails are clear and peaceful. A great time for reflection and rejuvenation… during those quiet moments when your little ones… or big ones- are not talking to you. 😉
4. The colors are spectacular! I’m a southern California girl… but now living in Pennsylvania, I have grown to really LOVE Fall. It’s my absolute favorite season because of the reasons above and all of it’s dramatic beauty! I never got to experience a full Autumn season before… so it’s a treat now!
Maybe you share the same views, so I challenge you to go enjoy that crisp air and perhaps I’ll see you on the trail!
Please share your experience. I’d love to bask in it with you. 🧡
I’ll leave you with a qoute…
Hiking is a bit like life:
“The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other…again and again and again.
And if you allow yourself the opportunity to be present throughout the entirety of the trek,
you will witness beauty every step of the way,
not just at the summit.”
