Honey-Onion Cough Syrup

An easy, basic, hearty syrup used as a remedy for coughs, colds and sore throats.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Large Organic onion- sliced in thin half-moons
  • Organic local honey
  • Optional: 1 clove of garlic and a little fresh ginger

Instructions
 

  • Place half-mooned onions into a deep pan. (If using garlic and ginger as well, add them to the pan also.)
  • Just barely cover the onion slices with honey.
  • Warm the onions and honey on very low heat, until the onions become soft.
  • Strain out the onions and pour into a mason jar. Seal tight and store in the refrigerator.
  • DOSE: Take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon every hour or two at the first onset of a cold and continue taking 3-4 times a day to help speed up your recovery.
